Shuinan Village, located in the east of Zhoumensi Town, covers a mountain forest area of 15,000 mu (1,000 hectares) and a cultivated land area of about 2,600 mu (around 173.3 hectares) with the population of 1,519 people in 441 households. It was rated as a provincial-level poor village in 2014, but shook off poverty in 2017.

 

In 2019, the village explored and innovated the development mode of Branch Farm (made up of village Party branch, company, base and farmers), and introduced Zixing Tengxing Ecological Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. to plant 50 mu (about 3.3 hectares) of vine tea.

 

The village Party branch signed a contract with the company, so that the village was responsible for land circulation and leasing, labor organizing and dispute settlement, while the company was responsible for planting plan, seedling supply, technical service as well as product processing and sales.

 

It established a business mechanism with clear property rights and responsibility, and shared interests as well as risks.

 

In 2020, the village developed 500 mu (around 33.3 hectares) of vine tea base and 108 mu (7.2 hectares) of vegetable base, drove 326 villagers to increase their income by means of land transfer and working in the base, especially for poverty-stricken households.

 

In 2021, the general Party branch in the village raised 60,000 yuan and transferred 360 mu (24 hectares) of land by expanding the scale with the area of vine tea base to 1,100 mu (about 73.3 hectares).

 

Meanwhile, Zixing Tengxing Ecological Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. was guided to register the “Tengxing” trademark. It launched a new production line of vine tea particles supported by the fund of 80,000 yuan, which turned out to be a great success in trial production. The output value of the company reached more than 12 million yuan in 2021. 

 

Hunan Yinghai Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. was guided to connect with the market and timely plant 108 mu (7.2 hectares) of lettuce in the pepper base of Branch Farm to promote order sales.

 

In 2021, the vine tea base and vegetable base of Branch Farm successively offered posts to 460 local people. 120 farmers received 120,000 yuan of land rent income, the labor income amounted to over 3 million yuan and the collective income of the whole village increased by more than126,000 yuan.

 

It not only created the vine tea industry dominated by Branch Farm but also achieved the “win-win result” of the development of leading enterprises, village collective economy and farmers’ income.
